Valerie Louri and duet Medi-T were chosen as candidates of RFO channel (French overseas territories) for Eurovision 2007 national preselection.
Members of jury were Sylviane Cedia (author, performer, Guiana), Theo Sulpice (founder and producer of the Show Tahiti Nui), Davy Sicard (author, performer, Reunion), Bruno Berberes (art director of Eurovision-France), Jean-Handbook Dupont (secretary-general of the RFO), Gora Patel (Director of the radio RFO) and Marijose Alie (Director of the cultural affairs of RFO)
Each of 5 channels of the group France Television (France 2, 3, 4, 5 and RFO) will introduce two artists and two songs for the national final which will take place next March. National final will be broadcasted by France 3 and RFO network.
In order to take into account all the cultural diversity of overseas, RFO decided to introduce an artist resulting from the musical show '9 Semaines et 1 Jour' and an artist resulting from the overseas community living in metropolis. The jury made his choice among a preselection of 10 artists resulting from the 72 candidates 2006 editions of '9 Semaines et 1 Jour': West Isle (Martinique), David Saman (Reunion), Enyd Cabarrus (Guadeloupe), Teiva Gerard (Polynesia), Valerie Louri (Martinique), Evy Tauhiro (New Caledonia), V'ro (Guadeloupe), Milca (Guyana), Verzonroots (Reunion), Edy (Martinique). The show took place between March and June. Valerie Louri had already received one of 9 main prizes of the show. Valerie Louri, originating from Martinique, began her artistic career as a dancer. Author and performer she wants to be ambassador of Martinique and "citizen of the World". Me'di, Franco-Italo-Algerian and Thierry, of Martinique origin form the very multicultural duet: Medi-T. Since 1999, they are song writers and performers of a music, whose message is clear: to bring closer all the differences by the music, without exception.

French broadcasters have selected their representatives for the French national Eurovision selection final. Coulisses-tv reports that France 2 looked in variety of music styles, France 3 as last year searched for new French singers, France 4 went for rap and rock'n'roll, France 5 for pop music and RFO has selected two artists from world music genre. Starting 10th of February all national broadcasters will air 10 introduction shows which will be broadcaster twice per day, and for 4 weeks. The internet will be involved as well, on 10th of February all users will be discover clips of 10 participating singers and be able to vote on their favourite in forecast poll. National final will take place in March, broadcasted on France 3, winner will be selected by jury and televoting. France 4 will broadcast Eurovision semifinal and France 3 final.
